This involves regular dental check up and appropriate x-rays to make accurate diagnosis and dental prophylaxis (teeth cleaning). Usually six month check up is recommended, but, in some situations, four or three month check up may be required depends on the severity of the condition.

 

Teeth that have been damaged by decay or gum disease need to be restored to their original condition. This is done by various means of dental fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, etc.

 

Endodontic (root canal) treatment is to remove the diseased nerve tissues inside the tooth so that the tooth can still be used. This is done usually in one appointment but, in some situations, may require multiple treatments.

Extractions of teeth are usually the last resort when nothing else can be done to save the teeth. It can be a simple extraction or surgical extraction of difficult teeth, such as wisdom teeth.

Dental implants are the latest improvement in restoring our dental health. Titanium implants are placed in the bone to serve as roots which will accommodate the crowns later to function as natural teeth. This is a significant improvement over the denture (removal prosthesis) which is often difficult to wear.

Root planning and scaling is a periodontal surgery to improve the diseased gum tissues regain the health. This is an extension of regular teeth cleaning with anesthesia to allow the removal of plaque and calculus in the deep root surfaces.
